Community Improvement Corporation
The New Bremen Community Improvement Corporation, commonly referred
to as the C.I.C., is organized under Ohio law and serves to promote
the economic well-being and quality of life in the Village of New
Bremen and German Township. It is a non-profit organization with
a minimum of 40% public representation and has special powers in
regards to the buying and selling of land which is essential in
industrial development. The Board of Trustees consists of Elected
and Appointed Officials of the Village and Township, School District,
and interested community
leaders.
The greatest need of the community since 1988 has been the availability
of small and medium “shovel ready” sites. For 15 years,
development in the Bunker Hill Industrial Park has focused on approximately
2 acre tracts and the necessary infrastructure. In 2004, a connector
street was completed which forms a second access into Bunker Hill
Industrial Park and also serves as a bypass of sorts around the
southwest part of town. Also in 2004, The CIC was involved in the
acquisition of a 70 acre tract that fronts on both White Mountain
Drive and Streine Drive. This is the largest single tract of land
available for industrial development and it will not be subdivided
until individual projects dictate its configuration.
Because of its unique makeup, the CIC is an entity that
can aggressively pursue planning and other community development
activities, in addition to economic development.
