Annual New Bremen Firemen’s Picnic

For more than 100 years, the Firemen’s Picnic has been held on the fourth Saturday of July, which this year falls on Saturday, July 25th. The Firemen’s Picnic has been a cherished summer tradition in our community. As the longest-standing picnic is a fundraiser supporting the New Bremen-German Township Fire Department, this annual event brings neighbors, families, and friends together.
The Firemen’s Memorial Run will start at 9 AM with a 1-mile fun run, and the 5K starting at 9:30 AM. Beginning at noon on Saturday, we have a great lineup for the entire family. Events include our kids’ waterball, fire department waterball, pony rides, kids’ games, live music, demonstrations by the fire dept. and much more.
Fundraising efforts over the last year have allowed us to purchase two new gear dryers, upgraded traffic scene lights, and a new rehabilitation tent/equipment. All of the purchases made over the last year undoubtedly continue to enhance the capabilities of our department and enable us to serve the community in a safer, more efficient, and professional manner. Each year, we strive to display items that represent the tangible impact of your generous contributions and highlight the positive change we can achieve when we come together.
Each year during our celebration, the community support that everyone gives to the department is amazing and we can’t thank you enough for sharing in our celebration. The annual Fireman’s Picnic this year will return with the Firemen’s Memorial 5K on SATURDAY morning, with all of our traditional activities beginning at noon on Saturday. We have a great lineup for the entire family scheduled on Saturday, including our Kid’s Waterball Challenge, live music, demonstrations, and more. We hope that you will join us for the 5K, Fun Run, and Gear Challenge and all the Picnic festivities on Saturday, July 26th to help us celebrate our annual Firemen’s Picnic.

Register for the Fireman’s Memorial 5k Run/Walk
Race Location: Starts and finishes at the Crown Pavilion (Washington and Plum Street).
Registration starts at 8:00 AM.
Join us for a scenic 5K race on a flat course that finishes along the Miami Erie Canal under NBFD Ladder 6642. Race day registration begins at 8:00 AM for the 5K, firefighter gear challenge, and fun run. The event also features a FREE kids’ 1-mile fun run starting at 9:00 AM. All proceeds benefit the New Bremen German Township Fire Foundation (501c3) Scholarship Program and Fire Prevention Activities.
In the spirit of honoring our fallen firefighters, the Firemen’s Memorial 5K was started to raise funds for a noble cause. Each year, we are proud to award deserving New Bremen High School seniors with $1,000 scholarships, made possible by the proceeds of the 5K. This year’s recipients were Taylor Meiring and Summer Kuenning.

Each extra raffle ticket is $5 per entry.
Our annual raffle is a major fundraiser for the fire department, and it gives you the chance to win some great prizes! Entries will be accepted until 10:55 PM on Saturday, July 25th, and the drawing will take place promptly at 11:00 PM. Fill out the form below to reserve additional tickets. All tickets will be mailed to your address. After purchasing raffle tickets, a confirmation email will be sent to the email you provided.
