Annual New Bremen Firemen’s Picnic

The annual New Bremen Firemen’s Picnic is the longest-running picnic in Auglaize County. It began in 1921 and is held annually on the fourth Saturday of July. This year’s event will be held on July 25th and 26th. The Firemen’s Memorial 5k Run/Walk will be on Friday night the 25th. Residents and community friends come together at the Crown Pavilion in New Bremen to enjoy a festive day of fun and food. We invite you and your family to join us as we have activities, food, fun and so much more for all ages.
Fundraising efforts over the last year have allowed us to continue adding additional battery-operated equipment, purchase key equipment that was in need of replacement (AEDs and Medical kits), and purchase new safety vests for all firefighters. The department will also soon receive new wireless headsets for our aerial. These headsets will allow all firefighters on the truck to communicate seamlessly while responding or while operating on a fire scene. In addition, the headsets also provide key hearing protection for the firefighters. All of the purchases made over the last year undoubtedly continue to enhance the capabilities of our department and enable us to serve the community more safely and efficiently. Each year we strive to display items representing the tangible impact of your generous contributions and highlight the positive change we can achieve when we come together.
Each year during our celebration, the community support that everyone gives to the department is amazing and we can’t thank you enough for sharing in our celebration. The annual Fireman’s Picnic this year will return with the Firemen’s Memorial 5K on Friday night with all of our activities beginning at noon on Saturday. We have a great lineup for the entire family scheduled on Saturday including our Kid’s Waterball Challenge, live music, demonstrations, and more. We hope that you will join us for the 5K, Fun Run, and Gear Challenge on Friday, July 25th, and all the Picnic festivities on Saturday, July 26th to help us celebrate the annual Firemen’s Picnic.

Friday – July 25, 2025 at 8:00 p.m.
Register for the Fireman’s Memorial 5k Run/Walk
Race Location: Starts and finishes at the Crown Pavilion (Washington and Plum Street). Registration starts at 6:30 PM.
Join us for a scenic 5K race on a flat course that finishes along the Miami Erie Canal. Preregister by July 17th for $25, which includes a shirt, or $15 without a shirt (5K only), or $15 for a shirt only. Race day registration begins at 6:30 p.m., with fees of $25 including a shirt or $15 without. A limited quantity of shirts, available in sizes XS-3XL, will be provided, with any remaining shirts sold for $20 after all registrants have received theirs. The event also features a kids’ fun run starting at 7:30 p.m. at no additional charge (shirts are not included). All proceeds benefit the New Bremen German Township Fire Foundation (501c3) Scholarship Program and Fire Prevention Activities.
To honor our fallen firefighters, the Firemen’s Memorial 5K was started to raise funds for a noble cause. Each year, we are proud to award three deserving New Bremen High School seniors with $1,000 scholarships, made possible by the proceeds of the 5K. This year’s recipients were Clint Voress, Tyler Krieg, and Olivia Heitkamp.

Our annual raffle is a major fundraiser for the fire department, and it gives you the chance to win some great prizes! Entries will be accepted until 10:55 PM on Saturday, July 26th, and the drawing will take place promptly at 11:00 PM. Fill out the form below to reserve additional tickets. All tickets will be mailed to your address. After purchasing raffle tickets, a confirmation email will be sent to the email you provided.
