July 22,2019

Roll call showed the following members present for the meeting on this date at 6:30 p.m.  Larger, Burnell, Richter, Parker, Kuck and Kronenberger.  Also present were Mayor Pape, Solicitor This, Chief of Police Skinner and Fiscal Officer Speelman.  Village Administrator Dicke was absent.

Visitors were Jenna Gilbert representing The Evening Leader, Sandy Schwieterman representing The Sidney Daily News, Jerry McClannan from Mote & Associates and Jeff Elking representing The Daily Standard.

Minutes from the July 8 meeting were approved.  Motion by Parker.  Second by Kuck.  Five ayes.  Kronenberger abstained.

Larger made a motion to approve total expenditures for July in the amount of $938,827.60 and total receipts for June were $1,107,512.11 and noted Finance committee reviewed bank reconciliations for June.  Second by Kronenberger.  Six ayes.

Mayor Pape made the following announcements in his Mayor’s Report:

  • Ribbon cutting at Golden Harvest Community Orchard is August 7 at 7 p.m.
  • Congratulations to Wally Wagner. He will inducted into the Ohio Grocers Hall of Fame on August 16.
  • New Bremen Firemen’s Picnic is this weekend.
  • Annual meeting with Bremenfest Committee will be this Wednesday, July 24.

Village Administrator Dicke gave the following report:

No report.

Requested bids for the refuse contract.  Maharg’s submitted the only bid.  No change in cost from current contact.  Will renew for 3 years beginning September 1, 2019.

First Reading Resolution 2019-7-7  Refuse contract with Maharg’s, 3 year term beginning September 1, 2019.  Motion by Burnell.  Second by Kuck.  Six ayes.

Assessment payments for Front Eastmoor Drive were received and all unpaid balances will be assessed through Auglaize County.

First Reading Ordinance 2019-7-15  Levying Assessments of Front Eastmoor Dr Reconstruction Project.  Motion by Kronenberger.  Second by Parker.  Five ayes.  Larger abstained.

Second Reading 2019-7-6 To adopt the Auglaize County Solid Waste Management District Plan.  Motion by Parker.  Second by Larger.  Six ayes.

Larger made a motion to adjourn at 6:45 p.m.  Second by Kronenberger.  Six ayes.
