New Bremen Pumpkinfest 2019

~~A message from the Pumpkinfest committee

It’s that time of year again when the evenings get cooler, the kids are back in school, and the leaves start turning colors. It also means it’s time for New Bremen Pumpkinfest and Artisan Showcase on Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th!

This year, besides putting together a great festival, we will be giving back to the community again. Due to the great turnout and support from the community, Pumpkinfest has been profitable. Last year we donated $25,000 to the “Miami-Erie Canal Towpath Health & Fitness Improvement” project, which includes installing fitness equipment at Jaycees Park and along the canal path, as well as installing bike kiosks to make bikes available for rent in the community. This year we are donating to the “Cardinal Campaign” which is raising funds to implement a vision for New Bremen student health and athletic needs for the long-term. We are excited for these projects and look forward to making more contributions to the community in the future.

This year’s Pumpkinfest will kick off at 4 PM on Friday with “happy hour and a half” featuring drink specials. Kid’s inflatables and entertainment from Mark Cantwil and ReFlektion will start the fun for the festival. There will also be another home brew competition this year on Friday night at Pumpkinfest. Can last year’s champion be dethroned? Doubtful, but we would love to see you try.
Saturday will begin with a pumpkin pancake breakfast at 7am, prepared by the New Bremen Cub Scouts and The Great Pumpkin Roll Bike Ride at 8:30am. Riders of all ages and skill levels are welcome.

The Artisan Showcase & Marketplace will return on Saturday from 9 AM to 6 PM, featuring over 25 local vendors offering a variety of items for sale including jewelry, photography, soaps, sweet treats, home decor and more. Visitors will also be able to express their creativity with wood burning and wine tastings, which are new this year. During the festival, you can join a drum circle, watch live chalk art, all while enjoying a wine flight. For more info and to sign up for maker sessions visit the Artisan Showcase Facebook page.

Pumpkinfest and Artisan Showcase also offer fun for the whole family. Youth entertainment and activities includes the annual kid’s pie eating contest, sidewalk chalk contest, kids inflatables, and face painting. In addition, back this year will be the Touch-a-Truck event where kids can climb into community firetrucks, police vehicles, construction equipment and more! We will also be offering free pony rides on Saturday from 3 PM-6 PM.

Saturday’s entertainment on the main stage will provide a variety of country, rock, and pop music from local performers – Blue Collar Band, Saw Creek, and My Sister Sarah! There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy! We will also have the Ohio State Buckeyes football game on so you can cheer on the scarlet and gray while enjoying a craft brew. This year will feature craft beer from local breweries including Moeller Brew Barn, Tailspin Brewing Company, Lake Rat Brewing, Endless Pint Brewing, Municipal Brew Works and new this year – New Bremen’s own Gongoozlers Brewery. Since nothing pairs better with craft beer than food trucks, this year we will be having Pumpkinfest’s first Food Truck Rally. Wine and domestic beers will also be available to compliment the great food selection from the food tent including Holy Smokes and Barbeque pulled pork, french fries, pumpkin chili and pumpkin pie.
