Roll call showed the following members present for the meeting on this date at 6:30 p.m. Larger, Burnell, Kuck, Parker, Kronenberger and Richter. Also present were Mayor Pape, Solicitor This, Fiscal Officer Speelman, Chief of Police Skinner and Village Administrator Dicke.

Visitors were Jerry McClannan from Mote & Associates, Sandy Schwieterman representing The Sidney Daily News, Jenna Gilbert representing The Evening Leader and Jeff Elking representing The Daily Standard.

Minutes from the August 13 meeting were approved. Motion by Parker. Second by Richter. Six ayes.

Larger made a motion to approve total expenditures for August in the amount of $1,194,943.81 and total receipts for July were $1,211,242.69 and noted Finance committee reviewed bank reconciliations for July. Second by Kronenberger. Six ayes.

Mayor Pape made the following announcements in his Mayor’s Report:

Great job by Bremenfest committee on great festival.
Working to develop policy and procedures for our community festivals of what they need from the village each year.
Auburn Cord Duesenberg will be in town Aug 29 around lunch time in the Jaycee Parking Lot. They are in town promoting their upcoming festival Labor Day weekend in Auburn, Indiana.
They will visit the Bicycle Museum and learn the history of the Miami-Erie Canal.
Will be scheduling an open meeting with council to discuss new website construction and how to best manage multiple facebook pages.

Village Administrator Dicke gave the following report:
Front and Eastmoor Drive reconstruction:
Concrete crews working on curbs, sidewalks and driveway approaches.
Excavating on Park St.
Wierth Ditch Project will be starting Aug 29 at Plum St and going south to the corporation limit.
Will be painting the light poles on 274 and 66. Will begin in approximately 3 weeks and take 10 working days to complete.

First Reading Ordinance 2018-8-19 Annexation from Jackson Township 2.04 acres, Gagel Property. Motion by Kuck. Second by Parker. Six ayes. First Reading Resolution 2018-8-5 Accept Local Government funds and rates set by Auglaize County Budget Commission, $71,435.94. Motion by Larger. Second by Richter. Six ayes.

Current appropriations for the local share of Front St Eastmoor Drive Reconstruction is $453,500. In January, council approved a local share cost of $566,600. Appropriations need to be amended to reflect the local share cost of $566,600.

First Reading Ordinance 2018-8-20 Ammend 2018 appropriation for Front Eastmoor Drive Reconstruction. Motion by Kronenberger. Second by Burnell. Six ayes.

Discussed adopting Ohio Municipal Code so it is part of our local ordinances.

First Reading Ordinance 2018-8-21 Adopting American Legal Code of Ordinances for the Municipality of New Bremen. Motion by Parker. Second by Kronenberger. Six ayes.

Discussed OPWC Project for 2019. Administrator Dicke will submit application for Franklin and Ash Street Reconstruction Project.

Second by Larger. Five ayes. Burnell abstained.

Reviewed state pricing bids for purchase of Dump Truck, single and tandem axle cab and chassis. Accepted bid from Rush Truck Centers at a purchase price of $101,190. Dump truck purchase was approved in 2018 budget.
