New Bremen Police Department
The New Bremen Police Department provides law enforcement in the village with seven full-time officers and up to five part-time officers, overseen by Chief Michael Skinner. All officers have completed mandatory training at the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy. The department has three fully equipped cruisers and a sports utility vehicle utilized by the K-9 unit.
Going out of town? If you notify the department that you will be on vacation and your home will be unoccupied, the department will keep an eye on your house for you. The department also offers safety talks to schools and organizations about traffic and pedestrian safety and related topics.
Citations and Misdemeanors
Mayor’s Court is held in the council chambers in the New Bremen Municipal Building located at 214 N. Washington Street. Only misdemeanors are handled by Mayor’s Court. For date and time of Mayor’s Court, contact the village office at 419-629-2447.
Citations can be paid at the village office during regular office hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Mondays-Fridays) You can also pay online. There will be a convenience fee for payments made by credit/debit card.

New Bremen German Township Fire Department
The New Bremen German Township Fire Department is a single station, volunteer organization. There are approximately 30 volunteers working to protect the Village of New Bremen and all of German Township.
The department is housed in the New Bremen Municipal Center facing North Washington Street and State Route 66. The roster includes a 97-foot aerial platform combination pumper, which is an exceptional resource for any village. The department also has two pumpers, one tanker, an equipment truck and a “grasshopper” for fighting grass fires.
The ISO Fire Rating for the Village is a Class 3, a high accomplishment for a volunteer department. The ISO Fire Rating is a combination of equipment and personnel, fire hydrants and water system, and fire prevention activities. Fire insurance rates are affected for every insured property in town, both residential and commercial.
Fire Department Fundraisers and Programs
The department’s main fundraiser is the Annual Firemen’s Picnic, held on the fourth Saturday of July beginning at 1 p.m. The event is held at the Crown Pavilion and the public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The fire department offers safety talks to schools and organizations, as well as tours of the station.
Donations to the fire department to help with special needs and projects are always welcome.

The New Bremen Emergency Squad
The New Bremen Emergency Squad, Inc., is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1975. Since its inception, the squad has provided 24-hour emergency service to the residents of New Bremen and surrounding area. It is staffed by more than 20 members.
The squad has two fully equipped Advanced Life Support Ambulances.
New volunteers are welcome to apply. Training classes are scheduled periodically.
The New Bremen Emergency Squad
The New Bremen Emergency Squad, Inc., is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1975. Since its inception, the squad has provided 24-hour emergency service to the residents of New Bremen and surrounding area. It is staffed by 20 volunteers.
The squad provides their own fully equipped Advanced Life Support vehicle and all of the related supplies and equipment. They are entirely supported by donations from the community, NBEMS Club raffle tickets, run fees and bequests.
The squad has received national recognition for their efforts, including the “Star of Life Award” for Volunteer Agency of the Year in 2012, “Daily Points of Light Award” in 2001 and the “President’s Service Award” in 2000.

Current New Bremen EMS members consist of six EMTs, three Advanced EMTs, six paramedics, and five drivers.
New volunteers are welcome to apply. Training classes are scheduled periodically.
