Summer’s longer days mean more time to enjoy warm weather and sunshine, but they also mean higher energy bills.
Our public power partner, American Municipal Power (AMP) has provided information regarding Community Energy Savings Days and how residents can take part in conserving energy during the hottest days of the summer. When high electricity demand is expected, due to temperature rising, residents can help save energy by using less electricity from 1pm – 6pm. If we all use less energy during these times of peak demand, we can spread demand more evenly on the network, reduce the cost of providing energy and reduce the amount of greenhouse gases generated.
