Roll call showed the following members present for the meeting on
this date at 6:30 p.m. Burnell, Schwartz, Richter, Parker, Kuck and
Kronenberger. Also present were Mayor Pape, Solicitor Smith, Chief
of Police Skinner and Fiscal Officer Speelman.
Visitors were Jerry McClannan, and Cheryl McKirnan representing The
Daily Standard.
Minutes from the May 22 meeting were approved with a motion by
Parker. Second by Kuck. Six ayes.
Mayor Pape made the following announcements in his Mayor’s Report:
Two Part-time police officers, Logan Newbauer and Shane
Grieves, were sworn in June 12. They are recent graduates of
Wright State University.
The dedication of Komminsk Legacy Park went well. Thanks to
all who attended on June 11. H.A. Dorsten received the Eagle
Award for their work on the park.
Congratulations to Lather: a hair co. for him and her, on their
recent grand opening and open house.
Village Administrator Dicke gave the following report:
PEP Insurance renewal is July 1, 2017. Price increase was due
to the addition of new equipment.
Bids for the 2017 OPWC Resurfacing Project were opened on
June 1. The bids will be awarded after OPWC grants are
awarded in July.
Crack sealing is still being completed throughout the village.
Sanitary line at Eastmoor Dr. and State Route 274 is tentative
for June 17,2017.
ODOT smooth seal is tentative to begin after July 4. Curb
ramps have been completed.
Update on Police/EMS Building – The footer and walls have
been poured.
There has been an increase in the number of residents
receiving monthly utility bill by email and paying by ACH from
their bank account. A form to sign up is available on village
website – www.newbremen.com
The yard waste facility has been cleaned up.
New Bremen School would like to place an antenna on our
tower for bus communication.
Transformer bid was awarded to Anixter. 1500KVA
Transformer $24,074 and 2500KVA Transformer $32,789 for a
total of $56,863.
First reading RESOLUTION 2017-6-25 2017 contract with PEP for
Insurance Liability. Motion by Kuck. Second by Schwartz. Six ayes.
RESOLUTION 2017-6-26 Authorize Village Administrator to accept bid
of Anixter for purchase 1500KVA Transformer $24,074 and 2500KVA
Transformer $32,789 for a total of $56,863. Will be paid from the
electric fund and is needed for addition at Crown Equipment. Motion
by Parker. Second by Burnell. Six ayes.
Second reading RESOLUTION 2017-5-24 Lease agreement with
NKTelco for land space near the water tower. Motion by Kuck.
Second by Parker. Six ayes.
Second reading ORDINANCE 2017-5-14 Proceed with South Eastmoor
Drive and East Front St sidewalk, gutter and driveway approaches.
Motion by Burnell. Second by Kuck. Six ayes.
Third reading RESOLUTION 2017-5-20 to engineer the infrastructure
for possible housing development at current Elementary/Middle
School. Motion to table by Parker. Second by Burnell. Six ayes.
Entered into Executive session at 7:22 p.m. to discuss personnel and
real estate. Came out of executive session at 8:34 p.m. with no
action.
