Roll call showed the following members present for the meeting on this date at 6:30 p.m. at Crown Pavilion Burnell, Larger, Kuck, Kronenberger, Richter and Lomakin. Also, present were Mayor Parker, Solicitor This, Chief Skinner, Fiscal Officer Speelman and Village Administrator Dicke.
Visitors attending were Jeff Pape, Kimberly Prueter, Stephanie Alig, Wayne Gruebmeyer, Rhonda Gill, Barry Gill, Marlene Hittepole, Chris Pape, Ryan Heckman, Brice Boroff, John Schwartz, Larry Speelman, Sandy Schwieterman from The Sidney Daily News, Corey Maxwell from The Evening Leading and Jeff Elking representing The Daily Standard.
A special meeting was called to discuss the Parks Department, the condition of the parks and ball diamonds. Kim Prueter presented photos of various areas she believes needs to be improved. Including Bremenfest Park, ball diamonds, tennis courts and the downtown area near the traffic signals. Other residents also spoke in agreement with the concerns.
It was mentioned that several years ago a Community Work Day was organized to help with upkeep at Bremenfest Park.
Jessica Lomakin, Parks Chairperson, thanked the residents for coming to the meeting and offering their comments and concerns. The Village will look into the concerns and find solutions while spending taxpayer dollars wisely. Due to the pandemic, the village is anticipating a 20% – 40% reduction in revenue.
The Parks committee will discuss and report to council at the July 13 meeting.
