Roll call showed the following members present for the meeting on
this date at 6:30 p.m. Larger, Richter, Burnell and Kronenberger.
Parker and Kuck were excused with a motion by Larger. Second by
Richter. Also present were Mayor Pape, Solicitor This, Fiscal Officer
Speelman, Chief of Police Skinner and Village Administrator Dicke.
Visitors were Jerry McClannan from Mote & Associates, Jenna Gilbert
representing The Evening Leader and Jeff Elking representing The
Daily Standard.
Minutes from the April 23 and April 25 special meeting were
approved. Motion by Richter. Second by Larger. Four ayes.
Mayor Pape made the following announcements in his Mayor’s Report:
Open House at the Police / EMS Building will be Saturday, May
19 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. K-9 Doc and Officer Bruns will be
present and helicopter will land at 12:30 p.m.
Spring Clean-up day on May 5 was a success.
Due to the Memorial Day Holiday, the next council meeting will
be Friday, May 25 at 5:15 p.m.
Village Administrator Dicke gave the following report:
Front and Eastmoor Drive reconstruction:
Waterline has been installed on Eastmoor Drive.
Project is moving along very well.
Received several calls this week on property maintenance.
Respect your neighbors and keep property maintained.
The Villages property, building and equipment insurance policy renews
on July 1. Policy is currently with Ohio Public Entities Pool. Stolly
Insurance will also be quoting the coverage. Both proposals are due
by May 21. Councilman Kuck will assist in comparing the two quotes.
First Reading ORDINANCE 2018-5-12 Entering into an Annexation
agreement with German Township for the proposed annexation of
22.719 acres of land. Motion by Larger. Second by Richter. Four
ayes.
German Township receives $250.20 annually from the county for the
property. The Village will pay the township what they would have
received from the county for 10 years. The village will pay a lump
sum of $2,502.00 to the township.
First Reading ORDINANCE 2018-5-13 Entering into an Annexation
agreement with German Township for the proposed annexation of Lot
1 and Lot 2 of Dicke Subdivision. Motion by Burnell. Second by
Kronenberger. Four ayes.
The Village recently learned a small piece of land in West Haven, Lots
1 and 2 of Dicke Subdivision have not been properly annexed to the
village. The village has been receiving money annually from the
county but needs to record the proper annexation.
