As part of the ODNR guidelines of a Capital Improvement Award a landscape architect is required for community parks, recreation and conservation projects. The Village of New Bremen has contracted with Choice One Engineering for landscape architect services. Jacqueline Huelskamp, landscape architect for Choice One will be working with the committee.
Over the past few weeks, Huelskamp has met with the committee to discuss the desirables of the project as well as identify suitable locations for equipment. The priorities and goals of the project identify Jaycees Park and the bike kiosks as the top 2 priorities.
Committee member Brittany Thibeau of the Auglaize-Mercer Family YMCA is working on suitable outdoor equipment for Jaycees Park. The committee agrees the equipment should be comprised of fitness equipment that cannot be found in a gym.
The committee is optimistic that the entire project will wrap up by end of 2019.
